Pursuing Your Destiny in the Wake of Disaster

There are many reasons why I still consider myself a New Yorker. I was born in a clinic on 33rd Street and 7th Avenue, right by Herald Square, and when the classic song “Native New Yorker” was released I felt a lasting connection to New York City.

It was no accident that my first corporate job was in the city. Both my parents worked there and when I graduated from high school I enrolled in a business school in Midtown. When I was given the opportunity to work in the World Trade Center in 1999 I jumped at the chance. I wanted to be on top of the world; successful and confident. My life took a drastic turn just a few weeks after the September 11 tragedy, when I went to Florida on business and met my husband, Randy.

Through all the years of living in Florida I think of my friends in New York every day. They are the anchor in my love for the city and will always have a place in my heart. In fact, I believe there will be a time when I have an apartment somewhere in the city, but only time will tell.

My passion for New York attracted the attention of TimesSquare.com and led to their interview with Randy and me for their article, “Pursuing Your Destiny in the Wake of Disaster” .

It is such a blessing to know that our messages of hope and strength have been shared with so many. My mission, since 9/11 has been to always be a servant of humanity, and I can’t thank TimesSquare.com enough for their belief in us as well.
