How many times have you experienced adversity and reacted in ways you might have left you in a state of regret?
Nowadays with the media’s desire to influence our daily lives, there was never a more crucial time to pay close attention to how we perceive these challenges. There is a vast difference between what we see as setbacks of circumstance, and what we have the ability to see as valuable lessons.
Epictetus said, “People are not disturbed by things, but by the view they take of things.” If one chooses to see beyond the struggles and see the beauty in everything, the connection between the inflated ego and uncluttered mind suddenly dissolves. What is left is a world of freedom; a newly found voice that can only be of pure joy.
In my co-authored book, “Pursuing Your Destiny: How to Overcome Adversity and Achieve Your Dreams” the adversities I faced brought me to a place of deep awareness. Regret has no place in any life when one becomes aware and mindful of all that this thought, said or done. It is in our innate power to do so.
